💻 How N.Y. was impacted by the global CrowdStrike update fumble
🖱️ The state will provide flexibility to anyone who was supposed to deal with a state agency Friday but couldn’t because of the outage.
If you woke up to find your workplace was scrambling to see how an overnight global tech outage had affected their business, you were far from alone Friday.
That was all thanks to a software update from CrowdStrike, a global digital security and software company.
The update messed with computer systems necessary for office work, government services and also air travel.
There’s no evidence it was a hack or cyberattack and the company’s CEO blamed an error in a software update. But we do know how it’s impacted state government in New York.
