Good afternoon — it’s Thursday and Craft Distillery Day.

In today’s CapCon:

  • Attorney General Letitia James paid a visit to the Capitol this week. Here’s why.

  • Democrats in the state Senate conferenced physician-assisted death Thursday. Here’s how the conversation went.

  • A new emergency regulation from DOCCS seeks to address drugs and contraband smuggled into prisons through mail.

  • New York has spent less than half of the funding it’s set aside for “Raise the Age” since the law was enacted eight years ago, a new report found.

  • A new bill would require the state to publicly report data on complaints of abuse and misconduct in state prisons and how they were handled.

Names in today’s CapCon: Tish James, Donald J. Trump, Leroy Comrie, Micah Lasher, Tom Stebbins, Brad Hoylman-Sigal, Amy Paulin, Andrea Stewart-Cousins, Thomas P. DiNapoli

❗ CapCon Note: The Legislature is scheduled to gavel out for the year in less than a month, so we’re offering a free 30-day trial for anyone who wants to get CapCon through the end of this year’s session. Get that 30-day free trial here.

You won’t receive a CapCon tomorrow and Monday because of the holiday weekend.
