What's in the fourth state budget bill introduced

It hasn't passed both chambers yet. That's expected today.

Good afternoon — it’s Thursday and the second day of voting on the state budget.

In today’s CapCon:

  • A fourth budget bill heads to the floor for a vote today: Education, Labor, Housing and Family Assistance. Others will as well.

  • I read the entire bill this morning to pull all the sections you’ll want to read about.

  • There are enough of those sections to fill an entire CapCon, including school, criminal justice and housing changes.

Names in today’s CapCon: None! Just a budget bill.

💰 What’s in the next budget bill: ELFA

Good afternoon! The remaining state budget bills were introduced overnight. All we have to do now is wait for them to pass the Legislature.

Yesterday, I laid out what was in the first three bills. I’m doing the same today but in a piecemeal fashion.

These bills are much longer and, as a result, include a lot more. This newsletter includes details on just one of those bills: Education, Labor, Housing and Family Assistance.

It hasn’t passed both chambers just yet but that’s expected at some point today.

As noted yesterday, I’ll have the link to the full bill below and you can search for each “part” to find the text of that section if you want to read it yourself.

I’ll send you another CapCon later today with details from the last policy-related bill. I’m hoping to look over the four spending bills introduced overnight as well so stay tuned and subscribe if you haven’t already. ⬇️
